Origins: OurTownSF.org  & Nonprofit Window

In 2001 Patrick Batt recruited Walgreens at 18th & Castro to begin offering free advertising space in their windows for multiple weeks to nonprofits in order to promote their mission, recruit volunteers & advertise upcoming events.  Begiining in 2011 Paul Margolis began to handle reservations for the Nonprofit Windows.
Since their window faces busy Castro Street, soon after Paul began to handle reservations, there were long waitlists for the Window.  Due to these limitations,
he created OurTownSF.org  in October 2013 to continuously promote groups that serve our community. Information is submitted by groups or copied from their website & Facebook pages.
